Brickyard VFX , lately , finished the visual effect works ,
for ESPN 2's " Afternoon Block " , campaign , via , agency Wong ,
Doody , Crandall , Wiener and director ,
Robert Boocheck , of Oil Factory collective
, Tomorrow's Brightest Minds . The campaign , is a promotion of ESPN 2's , new
weekly , programming block , of Dan Le Batard , which is highly Questionable . Jim
Rome’s , Burning and a Sports nation , features : 30 spots , " Power
Outage" , " Delivery "
and finally , " Tour Guide " .
Every spot , features , live actions , from three shows , which are placed , in
individual blocks and vertically piled , on top of each other . Brickyard , had
designed , monolithic , triple decker blocks , that are situated , in a huge , mundane
office space . For the purpose of achieving real belief , the Brickyard team ,
has collaborated with Boocheck , on a detailed , pre viz , which has to be done
, earlier , to the shoots , which has to be outlined using ,specific camera
angles , lensing and camera placement , for each and every set , to enable ,
the compositing , 3-block stack , which are further achieved , by correct
thinking . Thorough and minute planning , were needed , as , each show , was
shot , in three unique cities , each city , had needed , accurate measurements
and lighting evaluation to accomplish a seamless composite . Brickyard's , VFX
Supervisor , Mandy Sorenson , was present on set , in Los Angeles , Miami and
Connecticut , to collaborate , with Boocheck and the remaining cast .
The Brickyard team , accumulated , all the live action
blocks and CG elements , as well as compositing screens and various other
elements , into the set pieces . Brickyard , when designed and modelled , have
the block exteriors , in CG , to frame , the set pieces , in addition to
augmenting other graphic elements , which also , includes , the show logos ,
for each and every live action sequence .
Multiple , additional elements , like :
a fishing rod , powered picnic basket , dumbwaiter, water coolers and
other office trappings , were created , against a green screen and then
integrated into the final scenes , to vouch for its authenticity .
Brickyard's , equipment , included Maya , for creating , CG
box elements and Flame , for all other compositing works . All spots are being
currently aired .
